Placements with INTERIM

We offer psychotherapy and counselling students, particularly recipients of our Scholarships and Grants the opportunity to apply for a placement with INTERIM. This means you can begin working with patients as part of your training under the supervision of a qualified psychotherapist.

Our placements offer high value and are taken up quickly. Placements are structured to offer the best possible experience to help you qualify as a psychotherapist/counsellor. You will be required to continue the development of your psychotherapy/counselling skills and experience through the external training course you are undertaking and through your personal one to one therapy.  You must be available to see up to 3 patients a week and attend weekly group supervision with the placement clinical supervisor.

All qualified and student psychotherapists/counsellors will be expected to follow the current working procedures of INTERIM as described in our Governance and to produce evidence of public liability insurance, qualifications (or recognised training institution in the case of students) and details of your governing/registering body (UKCP and/or BACP). Proper DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks will be carried out with regard to safeguarding. The premises for the rooms in which you will practice have been risk assessed and are safe to be used and you will not be working on the premises alone.

Please refer to: the Role Specifications, the Guidance Form, the Application Form, the Monitoring Form, the Financial Statement Form; and the Grant Making Policy.
